Kindgate has no account, no server and no analytics. There is nowhere for your data to go, because there is no “us” to send it to.

What the extension stores

Everything Kindgate keeps is written to Safari’s local extension storage on your device, using the browser’s storage permission. That includes:

The check-in log can only ever name two sites: youtube.com and instagram.com. It is not a browsing history and cannot become one. You can copy the log out or clear it from the extension’s popup at any time.

What the extension does not do

Why it runs on every site

Some of what Kindgate does — the warm evening screen, the pause and the check-in — has to work wherever you are browsing, so the extension is granted access to the pages you visit. That access is used to change how a page looks in front of you. Page content is never read for any other purpose, never stored, and never transmitted.

This website

kindgate.app is a set of static files. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and no tracking scripts, and has no login. The hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention; that is standard for any web host and is not accessible to us as an analytics product.

The page loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That is the only third-party request on this site.

Children

Kindgate is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
